Rebranding Martyn Gerrard Estate Agents

Well, this was a comprehensive project – rebranding a well established estate agent in North London. And all instigated by cheekily slipping in an unrequested logo idea into the concept stage of an ad campaign we were designing for them…. because we just had to show them how their brand could benefit from being updated. A fresh start and enduring burst of new energy and direction for MG. Plus there’s the twice gold award-winning billboard campaigns. I think that was a good move…

The new brand identity was a celebration of North London, and the experience of the MG team as specialists in these areas. A playful and friendly approach – looking professional, but not too ‘slickster’, such is the stereotyping of estate agents’ negotiators! Warmth and approachability was the intention. Highlighting what is it that makes somewhere home for home owners.

As a family-owner business with profound family values, when their 50th year of business came around, this was recognised in the next stage of the brand identity… and became part of an award-winning marketing campaign.

As the recognition of the new brand flourished and caused some positive ripples in the industry, the identity encouraged the use of the MG monogram alone, and the next billboard campaign was a clean, dramatic new adventure.

The strategy of exposure through property publications and continued support of local events creates further touchpoints on a small and large scale… And the billboard campaigns developed over time, still celebrating North London.
